The honest answer

Can you mod GTA 6?

No — and not for a while.

Not possible today

You cannot mod Grand Theft Auto VI. It ships on console only, and no PC version has been announced. What you can do today is play the GTA 5 mods that rebuild pieces of VI — and understand what has to land before real VI modding becomes possible.

Will console modding ever be possible? No — neither platform permits it
If a site is offering you a GTA 6 mod installer, it is not a mod. There is no build to mod, no toolchain, and no PC release.

The four blockers

A PC version has to exist

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Neither platform permits the file access modding requires. Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a date for one, so there is no modding timeline to speak of yet.

Blocked
The community needs a script hook

Almost every GTA 5 mod depends on a third-party script hook to load code into the game. Something equivalent has to be written for VI before scripted mods are possible, and historically that has taken weeks to months after a PC release, not days.

Waiting
Archive tooling has to be rebuilt

Texture, model and map mods need tools that can read and repack the game's archives. Those tools are written from scratch for each engine revision, and Rockstar's stance on them has not always been friendly.

Waiting
Online modding will stay off-limits

Rockstar has consistently acted against mods that touch online play. Expect single-player modding only, and expect anti-cheat to make that boundary firm from day one.
